Nilfgaardian Trousers come in two different variants in the base game. The Common variant is light, gives 2 armor at level 1 and serves as banquet wear. Geralt can get it during Imperial Audience. The Relic variant is medium armor from the free Nilfgaardian Armor set, sold by the quartermaster at Crow's Perch in Velen. Both variants start in the early game, the Common pair in Vizima and the Relic pair at level 10, with an upgraded Relic pair at level 35.

The Relic variant gives 27 armor at level 10, plus 2 per level. It gives +10% piercing, +10% bludgeoning and +10% slashing resistance, with +3% monster and +3% elemental resistance.

The quartermaster first stocks the level 10 variant. At level 35, an upgraded level 35 variant replaces it in his stock. That upgraded variant is meant for NG+, but it can be bought in a regular game too.

Kept pairs of the Common variant can be worn to the banquets in A Matter of Life and Death, The King is Dead - Long Live the King and The Man from Cintra.

Each variant has its own figures.

How to Get Nilfgaardian Trousers

  • Common (light): Geralt can get 3 pairs at the start of Imperial Audience. Another pair lies in Irina Renarde's room at The Butcher's Yard theater. Elihal sells them, and in Blood and Wine Pierre does too.
  • Relic (medium): Buy them from the quartermaster at Crow's Perch.

Nilfgaardian Trousers Map Location and Quest Guide

Geralt can take three pairs of Nilfgaardian Trousers at the start of Imperial Audience, when he dresses for his audience with Emperor Emhyr in the palace at Vizima. The pin marks the quest. The quartermaster at Crow's Perch also sells a pair.

  1. Finish The Incident at White Orchard. Imperial Audience opens with Geralt in a bath in the palace at Vizima.
  2. Have Geralt's beard shaved at the request of the chamberlain Mererid, and answer Commander Voorhis' questions.
  3. Get dressed from the three outfits on offer, and take all three pairs of Nilfgaardian Trousers.
  4. Talk to the chamberlain once dressed, and follow him to the emperor.

Notes

  • Keep the Common pairs from Imperial Audience: they serve as banquet wear in later quests.
  • In NG+ the Relic variant needs level 10 plus the NG+ starting level, and each of its resistances rises by another 5%.
