The Forked Hatchet is a Axe in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Mid game. It is found around Liurnia of the Lakes, which opens up past Stormveil Castle, so it arrives once a build has taken shape.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D and Dex at D, so Str and Dex are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 9 and Dex 14 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling. It also causes blood loss buildup (50) on its own, with no infusion needed.

Notes

Peculiar hatchet wielded by imps. The gently undulating forked blade is known as an "imp's tongue" and causes blood loss.
