The Lunar Steel Mace is one of the best weapons to get and learn the enchantment of. Since it adds another 20 points of damage to any weapon you enchant with its effect. The only drawback of this weapon is that its enchantment is only useful at night.

Weapon Enchantment

All Luner Weapons have the Silent Moons Enchant enchantment, which burns the target for 10-20 points of damage based on the level of the enchantment.

The enchantment only works between the game hours of 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM regardless of lunar moon phase, weather, or indoor/outdoor location. However if you disenchant this weapon and apply the enchantment to another weapon at the Altar of Enchanting then the enchantment will work at any time of day instead.

This enchantment scales in damage by 25-50% with the Augmented Flames Perk.

Where to find Lunar Steel Mace Location

To find the Lunar Steel Mace you must go to Silent Moons Camp Location and reach the Nordic Tomb structure at the top of the hill, within you will find the Silent Moon Lunar Forge where the Lunar Steel Mace can be picked up for free (Full walkthrough shown in the video above at 0:46 seconds).

Trivia

The Lunar Steel Mace enchantment description says that it burns the target, however, no burning animation is applied. It instead applies both the Magelight and Mage Armor animation visually. However, like fire enchantments, the damage will be amplified by any method that affects fire damage, such as the Augmented Flames perk.
The book Notes on the Lunar Forge states that the enchanted weapon gains a vampiric effect, "draining life upon hit." This is incorrect, it just adds extra flat damage to the weapon.

Gameplay Tips

If you get the Lunar Steel Mace after level 8 it will have the most powerful version of the enchantment that burns the target for 20 points,
The Silent Moon Enchantment also scales in damage with the Augmented Flames Perk, this makes fire spells do 25% more damage (50% for second rank). With rank 2 of this perk the Lunar Mace will do 30 damage per hit just from its enchantment.
It's not actually possible to craft the Lunar Steel Mace or any other Lunar Weapons at the Lunar Forge.

Smithing Guide

Enchanted weapons require the Arcane Blacksmith Perk to upgrade.

While Lunar Weapons cannot be crafted you can find the Lunar weapon, disenchant it and then apply the enchantment to another weapon or crafted weapon.

Weapon Levels

Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.

The Lunar Steel Weapon enchantment scales in damage depending on what level you obtain them. You can always disenchant the weapon and apply the most powerful version of the enchantment at level 8+.
