The Madness Mace is a Saints & Seducers mace forged from madness ore. It deals 18 base damage. Madness weapons hit harder than dragonbone ones but weigh slightly more. Its recipe comes from Evethra's Journal, carried by the blacksmith Evethra north of Mistwatch.

Any weapon enchantment can be placed on a Madness Mace at an arcane enchanter.

Madness Mace Location
Copies come from the forge, through Amber and Madness Smithing. That quest starts with a note found in the Solitude Sewers at the end of Restoring Order.

Upgrades
A Madness Mace is improved at a grindstone with one Madness Ingot per improvement. The Ebony Smithing perk doubles the improvement, so each quality tier needs less Smithing skill. An enchanted copy can only be improved with the Arcane Blacksmith perk.

Weapon Levels
Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.
