Chain cannot be crafted. You get every link from a Wraith in the Swamp at night or from a chest in a Sunken Crypt.
How to Get It
Wraiths only spawn in the Swamp after dark and drift in without a sound, so farming chain is always night work. Sunken Crypt chests drop it as well, but you need a Swamp Key from The Elder before a door will open. The surface ruins and towers of the Swamp hide the occasional length too. Much later, you can take down the hanging chains and hooks at Dvergr harbours and excavation sites in the Mistlands with a hammer, and that becomes the easiest supply by far.
