Dark Moon Ring is a quest item in Elden Ring. It becomes available partway through a run, in the Academy of Raya Lucaria.
The Dark Moon Ring shows a leaden full moon. Ranni the Witch is meant to give it to her consort as a cold oath. Her consort would by right become lord. The ring is needed for the Age of the Stars ending.
Use
The ring breaks the seal past Astel, Naturalborn of the Void that leads to the Moonlight Altar. Placed on Ranni the Witch beneath the Cathedral of Manus Celes, it makes the Tarnished her consort. Her summon sign then appears after the final boss and opens the Age of the Stars ending.
Quest
It belongs to Ranni the Witch's quest. It is brought to Ranni the Witch at Beneath the Cathedral of Manus Celes. The Tarnished becomes her consort and the Age of the Stars ending becomes possible.
