The Giant's Red Braid is a Whip in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Late game. It is behind a late region or a boss remembrance, so it is an end-of-run weapon rather than something to build towards.

Why Players Pick It

The Fire Giant Remembrance whip and the only one that rewards a Strength/Faith build: 205 physical + 132 fire at max Standard with B Str and B Fai. Highest Str requirement in the class at 18, plus Fai 21. Its Flame Dance skill is a wide multi-swing for 25 FP.

Upgrades

It takes Somber Smithing Stones rather than the common kind, one per level up to +10, and it keeps its own skill for good: no Ash of War will replace it and no affinity will re-cut its scaling.

Skill

Flame Dance costs 25 FP. Imbue the red braid with the Giants' Flame and lash out in a wide range with a series of agile swings. It belongs to this weapon alone: no Ash of War will move it onto anything else, and nothing will replace it here.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D, Dex at D and Fai at D, so Str, Dex and Fai are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 18, Dex 12 and Fai 21 before you can lift it. Because the skill is its own, the build has to come to the weapon rather than the other way round.

Notes

Hefty whip woven from the flame-red hair of a Fire Giant. Every giant is red of hair, and Radagon was said to have despised his own red locks. Perhaps that was a curse of their kind.

How to Get Giant's Red Braid Guide

Trade the Remembrance of the Fire Giant, gained by defeating Fire Giant, with Finger Reader Enia.
Alternatively, use one of the Wandering Mausoleums to duplicate one (can only obtain one per playthrough using either method).
