Fire Giant is a legendary boss in Elden Ring.
The Fire Giant is the last survivor of the war against the giants. He guards the Forge of the Giants on Flame Peak, where the Flame of Ruin burns. The fight takes place across a wide snowfield, so Torrent is a key tool. He must be defeated to burn the Erdtree and move the story forward.
Lore
The Fire Giant is a colossal figure with wild red hair and a second, living face in the middle of his chest. A brace of braided hair binds his wounded left leg. He wields fire as easily as his fists.
Before the Erdtree, the giants ruled the northern mountains after driving away the ice dragons. They worshipped a fell god and borrowed its fire. Fearing that fire, Queen Marika sent Godfrey and his Crucible Knights against them, and the giants were defeated.
Only one Fire Giant was left alive. Marika cursed him to tend the Flame forever so that it could never harm her Erdtree.

Phases
- Phase 1: the giant fights with stomps, sweeps and rolling attacks. Breaking the brace on his left leg exposes a weak spot.
- Phase 2: at about half health he tears off his broken foot, opens the eye on his chest and fights with fire pillars, paired fire orbs and volcanic rocks. His weak spot moves to his left forearm.
Attacks
- Swipes and jump attacks: huge strikes that cover a wide area. Dismounting from Torrent at the right moment gives i-frames to pass through them.
- Rolling: he rolls away to reposition when the player stays under him too long. Keeping clear of his sides avoids it.
- Slow fire orb: an orb that explodes when close or after a delay and leaves fire behind. Baiting the explosion and riding away avoids it.
- Fireball: a fireball thrown from his hand, larger than it looks. A wide sideways dash avoids it.
- Fire Pillar: in phase two, pillars of flame erupt beneath him. Riding far away avoids them.
- Volcanic rocks: in phase two he hurls burning rocks into the air. Staying on Torrent and keeping distance avoids them.
Tactics
- Summon Iron Fist Alexander, whose sign is inside the arena, to break the giant's stance.
- Choose a durable spirit ash such as Black Knife Tiche or the Mimic Tear Ashes over weak group summons.
- Use Torrent to close the distance, then fight on foot in phase one.
- Attack the braced left leg until the brace breaks to reveal a weak spot.
- In phase two, ride Torrent and stay behind him, since most of his attacks hit the front.
- Punish a stagger by striking the eye on his chest.
- Bring Frozen Raisins to heal Torrent during the long fight.
