The Magma Whip Candlestick is a Whip in Elden Ring. It becomes available partway through a run, in Volcano Manor.

The Magma Whip Candlestick is a three-pronged ritual candlestick whose solid flames, formed from the magma of Mt. Gelmir, become supple whips of lava when it is swung as a weapon. Patches gives it as a reward in Volcano Manor after the contract on Great Horned Tragoth is completed, once the area has been reloaded, and it must be claimed before he leaves the manor. Its lashes deal equal physical and fire damage at whip reach. Sea of Magma swings a molten whip overhead to cover the surrounding ground in a sea of magma for a short time, and holding the input keeps the lava whip swinging. It suits a Dexterity and Faith character, while the Giant's Red Braid serves Strength and Faith.

Stats

The Magma Whip Candlestick has the highest total damage among whips, split evenly between physical and fire, 72 of each at base and 181 of each at max upgrade. Sea of Magma lays a lingering lava pool for 10 FP plus 5 per swing, the class's only real area denial, which makes it the whip for a Faith build that wants to hold ground.

How to Get Magma Whip Candlestick Guide

Patches gives it at Volcano Manor after Great Horned Tragoth is killed for him, once the area has been reloaded.

Join Volcano Manor and find Patches in the manor's entrance hall.
Talk to him to take on his request to kill Great Horned Tragoth.
Rest at the Site of Grace inside Magma Wyrm Makar's arena at the Ruin-Strewn Precipice in Liurnia of the Lakes and use the red sign there to invade Tragoth.
Defeat Tragoth and return to Patches.
Talk to him, reload the area, then talk to him again to receive the candlestick.
Finish this before defeating Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, since Patches leaves the manor afterward.

Skill

Sea of Magma costs 10 / 5 FP. The wielder swings a molten whip overhead, covering the surrounding ground in pools of magma that burn anything standing in them. Holding the button keeps the whip swinging at a slow walk, spending FP with each swing, and releasing it ends with a whipping strike that flings more magma forward. The Talisman of the Dread boosts its damage. The skill is unique to this weapon and cannot be swapped out.
