Whetstone Knife is a whetblade in Elden Ring. It is found early on, in Limgrave.
The Whetstone Knife is a whetstone carved to look like a small blade. It lets Ashes of War be put on weapons at a Site of Grace. It also lets the affinity that comes with an Ash of War be chosen. The other whetblades build on it by adding more affinities.
Use
Owning the knife adds the Ashes of War menu at every Site of Grace. There, an Ash of War changes a weapon's skill and its affinity. Which affinities appear depends on the Ash of War and the whetblades owned.
"Whetstone with a cipher inscription, made to look like a small knifeblade. Allows the use of ashes of war at a site of grace to bestow new battle arts and affinities to armaments as skills. The battle arts and affinities will depend on the ashes of war used."
