The Fell Thunderbrute is a boss of Enshrouded, found in the Springlands, the Low Meadows, Revelwood, the Nomad Highlands, the Kindlewastes and the Albaneve Summits. Fire (x1.2 damage taken); fire staves and wands work well.
Fell Thunderbrute Location
The first one, reached through the Blacksmith quest Clear The Elixir Well. It sits in the large Shroud area just north of Longkeep. Take the path down into the Shroud beside Braelyn Bridge, head for the twin tower-like structure, refill Shroud time at the Flame orb/return beacon, climb down the wall behind it and follow the stairs and tunnel to the red Shroud Root. The Thunderbrute appears as you approach the root.

Abilities
| Ability | Effect | Counter |
|---|---|---|
| Wide sweep | Swings its huge weapon back and forth in broad, slow arcs, sometimes as a chain of slashes. | Dodge rather than block or parry; a hit takes a big chunk of health and stuns you briefly. |
| Ground slam shockwave | Raises its weapon high, then smashes it down and sends a line of energy along the ground in front of it, stunning anything caught in or beside it. The wave only travels a few metres. | Roll out of the line when the weapon goes up. |
Resistances and Weaknesses
Weaknesses:
- Fire (x1.2 damage taken); fire staves and wands work well.
- Attacks from behind deal bonus backstab damage.
- Ranged attacks: it has almost no answer to a kiting archer or caster.
Resistances:
- Shroud damage (immune, like all Fell).
- Poison (slightly resisted, x0.9).
How to Beat the Fell Thunderbrute
- Before going in: carry a ranged weapon (bow, wand or staff), healing items and food. Early on, cooked wolf meat and purple berries help; bandages and water for stamina regeneration are also useful. Bombs (powder balls) deal big damage if you have them.
- Bring an axe to chop the Shroud Root after the fight, and keep enough Shroud time for it.
- Ranged: let it come, roll away from the kick, open distance and shoot; repeat. High ground keeps you safe from most of its moves.
- Melee: wait at the edge of its reach, bait a slow swing or stomp, roll past it and hit its back, then step away and let stamina recover.
- Afterwards, chop down the Shroud Root to clear the area and earn a skill point; with the Shroud gone you can fast travel home from there.

The head is a trophy material at the Hunter or Hunter Assistant: Fell Thunderbrute Trophy (1 head, 2 Wood Planks, 2 Nails, +1 comfort), Bronze (3 heads plus a Bronze Bar, +2), Iron (5 heads plus an Iron Bar, +3) and Gold (7 heads plus a Gold Bar, +10).
Lore
The head item text says fungus and slush have replaced its brain; it is still very heavy and frozen in a sour expression. The Shroud flows out of the Elixir Wells that Thunderbrutes guard; felling the Shroud Root at the bottom gives skill points to every Flameborn nearby. The Fell Commander Bow is described as built for efficient killing, its purpose found in the skulls of Scavengers.
Notes
- It is the first miniboss in the game for most players.
- Most often it guards Elixir Wells, now and then Shroud Roots and other points of interest.
- Clear The Elixir Well (from the Blacksmith) rewards the Fell Thunderbrute Head, a skill point and 150 XP.
- Shroud Cores make the Improved Grappling Hook, Medium Magic Chest and Quick Stack Stations.
- Thunderbrutes respawn, for example after leaving the game and returning, so heads and cores can be farmed; the one-time progression reward is not repeated.
