The Godslayer's Greatsword is a Colossal Sword in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Mid game. It is found around Greyoll's Dragonbarrow, which opens up past Stormveil Castle, so it arrives once a build has taken shape.

Upgrades

It takes Somber Smithing Stones rather than the common kind, one per level up to +10, and it keeps its own skill for good: no Ash of War will replace it and no affinity will re-cut its scaling.

Skill

The Queen's Black Flame costs 15 FP. Set the blade ablaze with the god-slaying black flame before delivering a sweeping slash. Additional input allows for a follow-up attack. The black flames will continue to wear down HP for a while. It belongs to this weapon alone: no Ash of War will move it onto anything else, and nothing will replace it here.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D, Dex at D and Fai at D, so Str, Dex and Fai are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 20, Dex 22 and Fai 20 before you can lift it. Because the skill is its own, the build has to come to the weapon rather than the other way round.

Notes

Sacred sword of the Gloam-Eyed Queen who controlled the Godskin Apostles before her defeat at the hands of Maliketh. The black flames wielded by the apostles are channeled from this sword.

Location: Divine Tower of Caelid.
The Godslayer's Greatsword is looted at the bottom of the Divine Tower of Caelid, located in central Greyoll's Dragonbarrow. It is stored within a treasure chest guarded by the Godskin Apostle boss.
