The Anvil Hammer is a Colossal Weapon in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Shadow of the Erdtree. It is found around Land of Shadow in the expansion, which opens only once Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood are beaten.

Why Players Pick It

At +10 with 80 Str / 60 Fai it reaches 1161 attack rating (AR) two-handed, the highest unbuffed AR in the game. The catch: Somber, cannot be infused, cannot be buffed by magic or consumables, so 39 Str / 20 Fai and upgrade level are the only levers.

Upgrades

It takes Somber Smithing Stones rather than the common kind, one per level up to +10, and it keeps its own skill for good: no Ash of War will replace it and no affinity will re-cut its scaling.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at C, Dex at E, Int at E and Fai at D, so Str is the stat worth levelling, and you need Str 39, Dex 10, Int 11 and Fai 20 before you can lift it. Because the skill is its own, the build has to come to the weapon rather than the other way round.

Notes

One of the treasures of the ruined forges. A tremendous hammer that incorporates as its head the red-hot anvil of the forge. It is said that the anvil's shape is inspired by that of an altar, and that long ago, it was indeed used as such in rite and ritual. Unique Skill: Smithing Art Spears Slam the red-hot anvil into the ground, sending up countless spears as it is pulled out. The spears disappear instantly.
