How to Craft

Crafted at a level 4 Black Forge from:

Name Image Biome Crafting Station Spawn ID
Nord Greatsword Nord Greatsword Deep North Frost Foundry spawn THSwordGold
Bloodgold Bloodgold Deep North Blast Furnace spawn Gold
Frostfire Essence Frostfire Essence Deep North - spawn OrbFrostFire

When to Use It

End game. You need Fader dead before you can progress through the Deep North.

Upgrades

You can upgrade it twice at the Black Forge. Each step needs the station one level higher than the last, and costs the per-level amount and then twice that. Quality 4, at four times the per-level amount, needs a level 7 Black Forge, above its current maximum of 6, so that row is out of reach.

Quality Crafting Station Slash Fire Frost Durability Resources
1 Black Forge (Level 4) 186 12 88 400
2 Black Forge (Level 5) 196 15 91 450
3 Black Forge (Level 6) 206 18 94 500
4 Black Forge (Level 7, not yet available) 216 21 97 550

Properties

It has a wide three-hit combo, and the last hit does double damage. The slower secondary attack is a thrust for three times the damage.

It blocks with 76 armour and parries at 2x.

You move 5% slower while it is in your hands.

At quality 1 it deals 186 slash, 12 fire and 88 frost, 286 in total. That is 59% more than Primal Slayer and Scourging Slayer, which deal 180 at quality 1 and are the joint hardest-hitting weapons of their kind before the Deep North. Each upgrade adds 10 slash, 3 fire and 3 frost, so at quality 3 it reaches 206 slash, 18 fire and 94 frost, 318 in total.

A primary attack costs 20 stamina and the secondary costs 40. Its hits knock back with a force of 55.

It weighs 4 and has 400 durability, or 500 at quality 3.

It blocks with 76 armour, or 152 on a well-timed parry at 2x. Blocking a melee attack knocks the attacker back with a block force of up to 50.

Here is how its damage lands on Deep North creatures. Slash does full damage to Elakings, the Eyeless One, Deep North Greydwarves and their Shamans, Skeletons, Hexen, Krigen, Captive Fulings, Imprisoned Dvergr and Kall Fimbulbringer, and reduced damage to Barka, Fallen Warriors, Gammeltrolls, Shapeless and Tiny Pulps and Moose. Fire does extra damage to Deep North Greydwarves and their Shamans, Barka, Elakings, Skeletons, Hexen and Moose, and full damage to the Eyeless One, Krigen, Captive Fulings and Imprisoned Dvergr. It does reduced damage to Fallen Warriors, Shapeless and Tiny Pulps and Kall Fimbulbringer, and none at all to Gammeltrolls. Frost does extra damage to Shapeless and Tiny Pulps, and full damage to Fallen Warriors, Deep North Greydwarves and their Shamans, Captive Fulings and Imprisoned Dvergr. It does reduced damage to Barka, Elakings, the Eyeless One, Gammeltrolls, Skeletons, Moose, Kall Fimbulbringer, Hexen and Krigen.

Quality 4 needs a level 7 Black Forge, above its current maximum of 6, so in practice it stops at quality 3.

Crafting it from scratch and taking it to quality 3 costs 70 Bloodgold, 4 Frostfire Essence and 2 Frozen Branch, plus a mould and 5 Liquid Frost.
