A Shield Core is only ever assembled, never looted or mined. You make it at an upgraded Artisan Table from two older cores and a stack of Ceramic Plate, and it exists to serve exactly one building piece. Its materials come from the Swamp and Mistlands.
How to Get It
Bring a Black Core, looted from the Infested Mines of the Mistlands, and a Surtling Core, taken from a Surtling or a Swamp Burial Chamber. The Ceramic Plate is made from Black Marble, so the Mistlands has to be behind you before the Ashlands will let you shield anything. The recipe only shows up once the Artisan Table is upgraded.
