The Albinauric Shield is a Medium Shield in Elden Ring. It is a mid-game find.

The Albinauric Shield is a tall oval metal shield carried by young Albinaurics, its ornament depicting the primordial drop of dew from which they are said to have been made. It drops from the shield-carrying Albinaurics, three of which stand on top of the church northwest of the Academy Gate Town Site of Grace in Liurnia. True to its makers, whose most formidable foes were sorcerers, it boasts exceptional magic damage negation, and with a Magic infusion its magic absorption reaches 82.5 percent. Needing only 11 Strength and weighing 4.5, it guards against magic far more cheaply than the heavier anti-magic shields. It suits Strength, Dexterity and Faith builds that face many casters.

Skill

Parry costs no FP. Timed against a foe's melee attack, the parry deflects the blow and breaks the attacker's stance, opening them to a critical hit. It costs no FP, and the exact motion varies with the shield or weapon carrying it. It is the weapon's default Ash of War, so another can take its place.

Guarding

With a guard boost of 56, a blocked hit that would cost 100 stamina only costs 44. It blocks all physical damage, and against the elements it holds up best to magic, at 66%, and worst to lightning, at 23%. A block that drains the last of the stamina bar breaks the guard, leaving an opening for a critical.

Build

Raised against sorcerers and magic-heavy enemies, parrying melee attacks with its default Parry and blocking spells with its high magic negation.
