When to Use It

Late game. It is found around Mountaintops of the Giants, far enough in that it is an end-of-run weapon rather than something to build towards.

Why Players Pick It

120 holy damage at +0, the highest holy in the class and higher than any Greataxe's split alternative. D Faith scaling, 24 Str / 22 Fai, and only 8.5 weight. 245 physical + 294 holy at max standard with C/D. The pick for a Faith hybrid who wants Greataxe stance damage. Drops from the Black Blade Kindred before the Grand Lift of Rold.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D, Dex at E and Fai at D, so Str and Fai are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 24, Dex 8 and Fai 22 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling.
