Black Blade Kindred is a great boss in Elden Ring.
The Black Blade Kindred is a towering stone gargoyle mended with black corpse wax, the mark of those who serve Maliketh. One guards the steps of the Bestial Sanctum in Greyoll's Dragonbarrow. Another appears by the Grand Lift of Rold in the Forbidden Lands. Its blows hit extremely hard, and its red waves drain health for a short time after they land.
Lore
The Kindred is a huge winged gargoyle of stone, held together by blackened corpse wax. It fights with bronze weapons such as a greatsword and halberd, or a twinblade and axe.
The Kindred are Valiant Gargoyles mended with blackened corpse wax, the mark of those who serve Maliketh, the Black Blade.
They harness the power of the Rune of Death, and their attacks drain the life of those they strike.

Attacks
- Greatsword Combos: slams, power swings and a five-hit flurry; roll through the swings and count the pauses.
- Sword Thrust: it draws the sword back on its right and thrusts; roll sideways or jump over it.
- Halberd Swing and Dive: it swings the halberd or flies up and crashes down with it; back off a little and jump over the dive.
- Halberd Spin: it charges and spins the halberd twice; keep away until it ends.
- Blackblade Wave: it slams its sword down and releases a red wave that drains health; roll aside.
- Red Tornado: it swings its halberd into a red whirlwind that drains health, then slams; get well clear.
- Axe Slam: the Forbidden Lands Kindred roars and slams its axe with a draining shockwave; roll away.
- Twinblade Spin: rapid spinning slashes and a whirlwind from the Forbidden Lands Kindred; back away.
Tactics
- Use strike weapons, which crack its stone body best.
- Stagger it with jump attacks and multi-hit skills, then hit its head.
- Learn its long combos and dodge each swing; it hits extremely hard.
- Eat a Boiled Crab or use an Opaline Bubbletear to survive its heavy blows.
- At the Bestial Sanctum, the ledge to its right blocks many of its attacks.
- Summon Latenna, Millicent or a tanky spirit to keep it busy.
