Taproot is dropped by slain spriggans of every kind. Restore Magicka and Fortify Illusion are its most useful effects for brewing.

Location
Kill spriggans to collect it. Nightcaller Temple holds two on its alchemy shelves. Alchemists sell it as well.
Gameplay Tips
Combine it with Dwarven Oil to brew a potion with all four effects.
