Nirnroot is a rare plant that grows by the water along lakes, rivers and coasts. It glows and makes a chiming sound, which makes it easy to find at night. Its effects match those of Crimson Nirnroot, a red variety from Blackreach. Invisibility and Resist Magic are its most useful effects for brewing.

The northwestern coast near Northwatch Keep has many plants. Sarethi Farm has a small garden of them. Angeline's Aromatics in Solitude sells two.

Notes

Ingun Black-Briar asks for 20 Nirnroot in the quest Few and Far Between.
Avrusa Sarethi at Sarethi Farm buys Nirnroot for 10 gold each.
In-game text claims Nirnroot never grows back, but picked plants do regrow.
