Nord Sword is the one-handed sword of the Deep North, dealing 170 slash in one hand, as much as the two-handed Slayer from the Ashlands. It is not forged directly: a cast is poured around a mould found in the biome, then hardened in a Frost Foundry.
How to Craft
It is crafted at a Frost Foundry from:
- 1x Cast: Nord Sword, which is poured at a level 4 Black Forge from Bloodgold, Timberwood and its mould.
- 5x Liquid Frost, which is frozen down from ice in a Frigid Kiln.

| Liquid Frost | Deep North | Frigid Kiln | spawn FrozenFuel

Mould
Mould: Nord Sword can be found in the Deep North:
- It drops from the trash piles you smash in the Winding Tunnels.
- It is buried in the chests at memorial sites.
- It sits on the weapon stands on the last floor of Mörkhalla.
- It turns up in the barrels of abandoned villages.
When to Use It
It is an end-game weapon, since progress through the Deep North requires the boss Fader to be dead.
Upgrades
It can be upgraded twice at the Black Forge. Each step needs the station one level higher than the last, with the first costing the per-level amount and the second twice that. Quality 4, at four times the per-level amount, needs a level 7 Black Forge, which is above its current maximum of 6, so that upgrade is not yet available.
| Quality | Crafting Station | Slash | Durability | Resources |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Frost Foundry | 170 | 400 |

| 2 | Black Forge (Level 5) | 180 | 450 |
|
| 3 | Black Forge (Level 6) | 190 | 500 |
|
| 4 | Black Forge (Level 7, not yet available) | 200 | 550 |

Properties
Its primary attack is a three-hit combo, and the last hit deals double damage. The secondary attack is a single strike for three times the damage.
It blocks with 66 armour and parries at 2x.
Holding it lowers your movement speed by 5%.
At quality 1 it deals 170 slash, 170 damage in total. That is 10% more than Dyrnwyn at quality 1, which deals 155 and was the hardest-hitting weapon of its kind before the Deep North. Each upgrade adds 10 slash, so at quality 3 it reaches 190 slash, 190 in total.
A primary attack costs 16 stamina and the secondary 28. Its hits knock enemies back with a force of 40.
It weighs 0.8 and has 400 durability, rising to 500 at quality 3.
It blocks with 66 armour, or 132 on a well-timed parry at 2x, and blocking a melee attack knocks the attacker back with a block force of up to 20.
Against the creatures of the Deep North, slash deals full damage to Elakings, the Eyeless One, Deep North Greydwarves and their Shamans, Skeletons, Hexen, Krigen, captive Fulings, imprisoned Dvergr and Kall Fimbulbringer. It deals reduced damage to Barka, Fallen Warriors, Gammeltrolls, Shapeless and Tiny Pulps and Moose.
Quality 4 needs a level 7 Black Forge, which is above its current maximum of 6, so in practice the sword stops at quality 3.
Crafting it from scratch and upgrading it to quality 3 costs 50 Bloodgold and 25 Timberwood, plus a mould and 5 Liquid Frost.
Notes
- Reforging it into its Frostfire or Thunderblood version resets the new weapon to quality 1, so add the essence before you pay for upgrades.
- Once it reaches its last quality level, the Forge of Potential can push it further with a Bloodgold Battle Idol.
