The Behavioral Imprint-Synced Faceplate is a spy implant that gives V a new face on demand. Activating it changes both V's looks and V's digital identity. Outside of combat, that wipes a police bounty of up to four stars. Any character who gets into trouble with the police can use it to escape the law. It costs no capacity at all, so it never pushes other implants out. The Behavioral Imprint-Synced Faceplate is a Phantom Liberty story implant, installed by the ripperdoc Farida in her Dogtown clinic during the main job Birds with Broken Wings.
Effect
The faceplate is an active implant. It goes into the quickslot and is triggered with the combat gadget button. Activating it changes V's face and V's digital identity at the same moment. Outside of combat, this clears a police bounty of up to four stars. V then escapes the police.
The effect has a long cooldown. At its first tier, V must wait twenty-five minutes before using it again. The upgrades cut that wait to twenty minutes and then to fifteen. The faceplate works only outside of combat, so V must first leave the fight before using it.
The faceplate is attuned to Intelligence. Each Intelligence point adds a very small bonus to all damage V deals. A character with full Intelligence gains about one percent of extra damage.

The table shows what each tier step of Behavioral Imprint-Synced Faceplate costs at a ripperdoc.

Character Builds
The faceplate suits any build, because it costs no capacity. A netrunner gets the most from it, since the Intelligence attunement adds a little damage besides the escape. Builds that end up fighting the police often also gain from a quick way out.
The implant sits in the face slot alongside Kiroshi optics. Basic Kiroshi Optics slow down camera detection. Kiroshi "Cockatrice" Optics raise Crit Chance. Either one can stay installed while V carries the faceplate.
Select a Build
The build snipes while soaking up a steady stream of enemy fire. When the pressure gets too high, Optical Camo lets the character slip back into the shadows. Tech sniper rifles, silenced pistols and a Projectile Launch System make up the kit.

Lore
The database entry calls the faceplate advanced FIA spytech. It is based on research that Militech abandoned. Paired with a behavioral imprint, it lets the wearer take on the appearance of another person. It also copies that person's facial expressions and the way they speak. The entry says an experienced agent wearing one is virtually impossible to tell apart from the real person. Even the most advanced security scans let the agent through.
Solomon Reed arranges the implant for V. He sends V to Farida's clinic in Dogtown. Reed joins V there and talks at length before the procedure. Farida then installs the faceplate, and V leaves the clinic with a new tool for the operation ahead.
Notes
- V wears the faceplate in the next main job, I've Seen That Face Before.
