Knot Resin is a crafting material in Elden Ring. It comes from the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
Knot Resin is a knot-shaped lump of resin that seeps from tree roots. It works as a simple catalyst, so sorceries and incantations can be worked into it. It is found near tree roots all over the Realm of Shadow. It is the base for the greases of the Realm of Shadow, such as Messmerfire Grease and Dragon Communion Grease.
Gathering
The resin grows at the roots of trees across the Gravesite Plain and Scadu Altus. Many lumps also sit on corpses in towns, castles and caves. Moore sells a small stock, and the Twin Maiden Husks sell it after receiving the Greasemonger's Bell Bearing.
