Laika is an Iconic Tech revolver from Phantom Liberty. It is a Techtronika RT-46 Burya from a weapon series that was banned on humanitarian grounds. Its shots have a high chance to apply a unique burn to the target. Every hit on an enemy with that burn is a guaranteed crit. The more enemies burn at once, the more crit damage Laika deals, but its accuracy drops as the fire spreads. It is a revolver for players who like to set a whole room on fire and then finish off the burning targets. It comes from a Dogtown airdrop, so it rewards players who chase supply drops. Laika is a Phantom Liberty find from an airdrop at Los Osos in Dogtown. Herold Lowe sells it if the drop is missed.
Combat
Laika is a Tech revolver, so the trigger can be held to charge a shot before release. Every hit has a high chance to apply its unique burn. Once a target is burning, every hit on it is a crit. Burn also deals high Thermal damage over a short time, so a burning enemy keeps losing Health between shots.
The crit bonus grows with every burning enemy in the fight. Laika hits hardest when the fire spreads across a group. The downside is accuracy, which drops as more enemies burn. In a large fight, the revolver goes from precise to wild. The best approach is to set several targets on fire first. V can then finish them with crits while they burn.

- Jack into the container and complete the breach.
- Loot Laika from the airdrop.

Upgrades
Laika only keeps up with V's level through upgrades. The Upgrades tab of the crafting menu raises it one tier at a time. Each step costs crafting components from loot, crafting or disassembled gear. The revolver has to be in V's inventory for the tab to list it.

Character Builds
Laika uses perks from two attribute trees, Technical Ability and Cool. Technical Ability holds the Tech weapon perks. Bolt speeds up charging and raises charged-shot damage. It also makes a shot count as fully charged if the trigger is released just before full charge. Lightning Storm makes each charge after a Bolt quicker. Shock Value lets Bolts ignore enemy Armor. The Cool tree covers revolvers and headshots. Focus and Deadeye add headshot damage. Nerves Of Tungsten-Steel guarantees crits on headshots with revolvers while Deadeye is active. High Noon speeds up the next reload after a headshot kill.
For cyberware, crit damage is the stat that matters, because Laika already guarantees the crits. A Sandevistan with crit damage, such as the Militech Apogee or the Dynalar, makes every crit stronger. Feedback Circuit restores Health when a fully charged Tech shot hits. Electromag Recycler restores Stamina as well.
Lore
The item text sets the tone. Laika belongs to a special Techtronika weapon series, one that was banned because of humanitarian concerns. Its signature is a unique fire that turns every follow-up hit into a crit. The same banned Techtronika effect also appears on other airdrop Iconics, such as Alabai and Taigan.
Airdrops are supply containers that fall into Dogtown from the sky. Some are random and keep appearing in the same spots. Others are unique drops that carry shards and Iconic loot. Laika comes from a unique drop at Los Osos. To loot a drop, V has to jack into the container and finish a breach mini-game.
