The OS-1 GimletEye is a light short scope for guns used at close and middle range. It adds a small zoom and a little effective range. The low zoom keeps a wide view of the fight. The OS-1 GimletEye is an early game scope that weapon vendors sell from Tier 1.
Effect
A scope sits in a weapon's scope slot and changes how the gun aims. The OS-1 GimletEye gives a small zoom when V aims down sights. It also raises the weapon's effective range, so shots keep their damage a little further out. At Tier 1 it adds 0.2 zoom and 5% effective range. Both bonuses grow with each tier.
The zoom stays low at every tier. That keeps more of the screen in view during a fast fight. A long scope gives far more zoom for distant targets.
The OS-1 GimletEye is worth the slot on a gun that fights up close and still needs some help with aim.
How to Get OS-1 GimletEye Guide
- Visit a weapon vendor and check the scope stock.
- Skip time by a day and check again if it is not on sale.

Upgrades
The OS-1 GimletEye comes in Tiers 1 to 4, and higher tiers give more zoom and range. A scope can only go on a weapon of the same tier or a higher one. Scopes can be taken off a gun and moved to another one at any time.
Character Builds
The OS-1 GimletEye helps any build that aims down sights at close or middle range. Focus in the Cool tree adds damage to headshots and weak spots. Deadeye raises headshot and weak spot damage further. Sharpshooter in the Reflexes tree makes aiming faster. Tunnel Vision raises effective range and accuracy.
Lore
The in-game description calls the OS-1 GimletEye a sight designed to keep a low profile. The same text says it is as light and simple as optical scopes come.
