Alabai is a Dogtown shotgun that sets enemies on fire with a burn of its own. Every shot on a target suffering from that burn is a guaranteed critical hit. The more enemies burn at once, the harder those crits hit. Alabai gets stronger as more enemies in a fight catch fire. In return, its pellet spread is wider. Alabai is a Phantom Liberty find from a scripted airdrop in Longshore Stacks. If the airdrop is missed, Herold sells it at his black market stall.
Combat
Alabai fires a heavy blast of pellets at close range. Each hit has a chance to apply its unique burn. Once a target burns, every pellet that lands on it deals crit damage. The second and third shots on a burning enemy therefore hit far harder than the first.
The key is to set several enemies on fire. Each extra burning enemy raises the crit damage of every shot. It is best to hit the whole group first and then focus on one target. More burning enemies also widen the spread, so Alabai has to be used even closer. It is at its best in tight rooms and against groups that rush in.

- Loot Alabai from the drop.

Upgrades
Alabai is upgraded in the Upgrades section of the crafting menu, like every Iconic weapon. Each tier costs crafting components. The last step, from Tier 5+ to Tier 5++, costs 200 Tier 5 components.

Character Builds
Alabai works best with the shotgun perks in the Body tree. Bullet Ballet reduces bullet spread on the move, which helps with the wide spread. Like A Feather removes the movement penalty for shotguns, so V can keep up with the enemies. Rip And Tear links shotgun blasts and Quick Melee Attacks. Each one doubles the damage of the next. Close-Quarters Carnage and Spontaneous Obliteration add chances to obliterate enemies at close range.
Burning targets always take crits, so crit damage matters more on Alabai than crit chance. The Dynalar Sandevistan adds crit damage while it slows time. The Shock Absorber in the Hands slot reduces the heavy recoil. Immovable Force reduces both recoil and bullet spread.

Lore
Alabai is the Iconic variant of the Techtronika VST-37 Pozhar. Its description places it in a special Techtronika weapon series that was banned over humanitarian concerns. It keeps the Pozhar's blunt caption: high caliber, high damage, high recoil.
