The Devourer's Scepter is a Great Hammer in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Late game. It is found around Crumbling Farum Azula, far enough in that it is an end-of-run weapon rather than something to build towards.

Why Players Pick It

A Legendary Armament per, 112 physical + 69 fire with D Fai. But it carries the class's joint-lowest Sta on and the steepest requirement spread in the class at 24 Str / 20 Dex / 25 Fai. Take it for the Devourer of Worlds skill and the achievement, not for the class's core strength. Dropped by Knight Bernahl in Crumbling Farum Azula.

Upgrades

It takes Somber Smithing Stones rather than the common kind, one per level up to +10, and it keeps its own skill for good: no Ash of War will replace it and no affinity will re-cut its scaling.

Skill

Devourer of Worlds costs 35 FP. Charge the scepter with magic and strike it against the ground to steal the HP of all nearby enemies. It belongs to this weapon alone: no Ash of War will move it onto anything else, and nothing will replace it here.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D, Dex at D and Fai at D, so Str, Dex and Fai are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 24, Dex 20 and Fai 25 before you can lift it. Because the skill is its own, the build has to come to the weapon rather than the other way round.

Notes

Scepter in the shape of a serpent devouring the world. This weapon will one day become the very symbol of the Lord of Blasphemy. One of the legendary armaments. A vision of the future briefly seen by Rykard in his final moments before being devoured by the great serpent.
