The Sword of Light is a Straight Sword in Elden Ring. It belongs to Shadow of the Erdtree and waits in the Ancient Ruins of Rauh.
The Sword of Light is the Stone-Sheathed Sword pulled free at an altar, its silver blade formed from unswerving rays of light that intersect and reflect. It is made by taking the Stone-Sheathed Sword to the light altar, which is the Ancient Ruins of Rauh if the sword came from the Fog Rift Catacombs or the Ruins of Unte, and it switches freely with the Sword of Darkness while keeping its upgrade level. It deals equal physical and holy damage with the standard straight sword moveset. Its skill, Light, sends the sword aloft to release sweeping rays of light ahead and raises the wielder's holy damage for a long time, which pairs with the Sword of Darkness's debuff. It gains nearly the same attack rating from 80 Strength as from a 50 Strength and 50 Faith split, so it suits a Strength and Faith character, though it blocks poorly.
How to Get Sword of Light Guide
- Take the Stone-Sheathed Sword or Sword of Darkness to an altar at either Fog Rift Catacombs or Ancient Ruins of Rauh.
- WARNING: Once either the Sword of Darkness or Sword of Light has been acquired, though the two forms can be freely switched between by traveling to their assigned altars, the Stone-Sheathed Sword itself cannot be reacquired until the next new game cycle begins.

- If the Stone-Sheathed Sword was taken from Fog Rift Catacombs or Ruins of Unte, the altar at Ancient Ruins of Rauh should be used. If it was taken from the Ancient Ruins of Rauh, the altar at Fog Rift Catacombs should be used.

Skill
Light costs 30 FP. The wielder sends the sword spinning aloft, where it unleashes sweeping rays of blinding light that deal holy damage scaling with Faith. Afterward, a 60 second body buff raises the wielder's holy damage by 20 percent. The animation is long and cannot be cancelled once it starts. No other weapon carries this skill, and it cannot be replaced.
Suggested Build
Played as a holy buff sword: Light is cast before a fight or on a staggered foe to raise all holy damage, then the sword's holy slashes and holy incantations follow.
