One of the most powerful weapon to use against dragons in The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim is the Dragonbone Sword due to its unique enchantment that deals between 20-40 damage depending on your characters level. The Dragonbane sword also scaleing in base damage, the strongest version of the weapon does equel damage to a Daedric Sword.
Weapon Enchantment
Dragonbane has a leveled enchantment that does additional damage to dragons and 10 points of shock damage. The weapons unique effect cannot be disenchanted.

How to Get Dragonbane Guide
Where to find Dragonbane Location
You can find Dragonbane in Sky Haven Temple during the main quest "Alduin's Wall." Dragonbane is on a table in a dark room off to the left of the main chamber opposite Alduin's wall. You can return anytime after the main quest to collect the unique sword. A full set of Blades Armor can be found next to the weapon.
Gameplay Tips
- The Dragonbane Sword is the best weapon in the game to use against dragons. The weaker version of the weapon deals 10 base damage, 20 damage to dragons and 10 points of shock, for a total of 40 damage to dragons at level 1. The most powerful version of Dragonbane obtainable at level 46+ has 14 base damage, 40 damage to dragons and 10 points of shock, for a total of 64 damage. No matter what level you obtain Dragonbane it will still be an effective tool against dragons in Skyrim.
- If you want to obtain a higher level version of Dragonbane after you have already obtained the weapon during the main quest, you can do so by adding the weapon using console commands.
- When Dragonbane is used against a dragon, the enchantment of the sword will make blue spots appear on the dragon's skin.

Weapon Levels
Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.
Dragonbane is a leveled weapon.
