The Gauldur Blackblade is one of the best unique sword weapons in The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim due to it's unique enchantment that absorbs 25 points of health per hit, this gives you so much health sustain in combat that you become very difficult to defeat.
Weapon Enchantment
The Gauldur Blackblade has a leveled enchantment that absorbs between 5-25 points of health with each hit. The weapon can be used 27 times before it needs to be recharged. The absorb health enchantment ignores the enemies armor, dealing direct damage and healing you.

How to Get Gauldur Blackblade Location Guide
Where to find Gauldur Blackblade Location
You can find the Gauldur Blackblade location in Folgunthur. Within Folgunthur you will find Mikrul Gauldurson who can be defeated to get the unique Gauldur Blackblade Sword. Note that if you obtain the Gauldur Blackblade before level 36+ it will have a lower absorb health enchantment and base damage.
After Mikrul Gauldurson has been defeated you can also loot him to obtain the Gauldur Amulet Fragment, if all pices are combined you can create a unique amulet that increases your health, stamina and Mgicka by 30 points. This can be done during the quest 'Forbidden Legend'.

Weapon Levels
Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.
The Gauldur Blackblade is a leveled weapon, you can get the most powerful version of the sword at level 36+.
