The Lunar Iron War Axe is an Iron War Axe that carries the Silent Moons Enchant, with 8 base damage and a weight of 11. It is one of six Lunar weapons found at Silent Moons Camp, northwest of Whiterun. It can turn up there from level 2, which makes it an early enchanted weapon.
Weapon Enchantment
While the moons are out, the Silent Moons Enchant burns the target for 10, 15 or 20 points. The strength is set by the level at which the weapon is found, and the 20-point version appears from level 6. Disenchant it at an Arcane Enchanter to learn the effect for other weapons.
Any weapon enchantment can be placed on a Lunar Iron War Axe at an arcane enchanter.

Lunar Iron War Axe Map Location and Quest Guide
Lunar Iron War Axe map location:
The Lunar Iron War Axe lies at Silent Moons Camp, a bandit camp northwest of Whiterun. It can appear from level 2, and the strongest version waits from level 6.
- Travel to Silent Moons Camp, northwest of Whiterun.
- Fight the bandits on the stairs up to the Lunar Forge.
- Check the workbench and the grindstone at the forge for Lunar weapons.
- Enter the door near the foot of the stairs and clear the bandit leader's rooms.
- Search the shelves in the room behind the locked iron doors for another Lunar weapon.
- Check the table on the upper floor of the tower for the last one.

- The Lunar weapons at the camp respawn after a while, so a later visit can bring a different one.
- At very low levels the weapons may be missing from the camp.
Gameplay Tips
- Temper it at a grindstone with an Iron Ingot once the Arcane Blacksmith perk is unlocked.
- Wait until level 6 before visiting the camp to get the 20-point version.

Enchanted weapons require the Arcane Blacksmith Perk to upgrade.

Weapon Levels
Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.
Lunar Iron War Axe is leveled. Its damage and enchantment are set by the character's level when it is first picked up, and the strongest version comes at level 6 or higher.

- Notes on the Lunar Forge claims the forge makes these weapons, yet it works like any ordinary forge.
- The same book says the weapons drain health like a vampire, while the real effect only burns.
