The Skyforge Steel Battleaxe is a two-handed battleaxe made by Eorlund Gray-Mane at the Skyforge, with 21 base damage and a weight of 21. It looks like the Steel Battleaxe but hits as hard as the Elven Battleaxe. It goes on sale early in the game, once Proving Honor completes the Companions initiation.

Skyforge Steel Battleaxe Map Location and Quest Guide
Skyforge Steel Battleaxe map location:
Eorlund Gray-Mane at the Skyforge in Whiterun is the only merchant who sells the Skyforge Steel Battleaxe. It goes on sale once Proving Honor completes the Companions initiation.
- Travel to Jorrvaskr in Whiterun and speak to Kodlak Whitemane to join the Companions.
- Finish Take Up Arms, then one radiant job for the Companions.
- Speak to Skjor and travel with Farkas to Dustman's Cairn.
- Recover the Fragment of Wuuthrad and return to Jorrvaskr for the initiation.
- Ask Eorlund Gray-Mane at the Skyforge for a weapon and choose the battleaxe.

Gameplay Trivia
- Skyforge weapons are identical to Steel Weapons but share the same base damage as Elven Weapons.
Smithing Guide
Enchanted weapons require the Arcane Blacksmith Perk to upgrade.
Upgrades
A Skyforge Steel Battleaxe is improved at a grindstone with one Steel Ingot per improvement. The Steel Smithing perk doubles the improvement, so each quality tier needs less Smithing skill. An enchanted copy can only be improved with the Arcane Blacksmith perk.

Weapon Levels
Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.
Skyforge Steel Battleaxe has the same damage at every character level.
