The Nord Hero Battleaxe is an improved Ancient Nord Battleaxe, forged at the Skyforge with 21 base damage and a weight of 20. It looks cleaner than the draugr original, hits harder and weighs less. The recipe opens after Glory of the Dead, the last quest of the Companions.
Weapon Enchantment
Any weapon enchantment can be placed on a Nord Hero Battleaxe at an arcane enchanter.

Nord Hero Battleaxe Location
The Skyforge in Whiterun makes it from a plain Ancient Nord Battleaxe after Glory of the Dead. Speak to Eorlund Gray-Mane once the questline ends, and the recipe appears.
Gameplay Tips
- Temper it at a grindstone with a Steel Ingot. The Steel Smithing perk doubles the improvement.
- It matches the Elven Battleaxe at 21 base damage but weighs 20 instead of 24.

Upgrades
A Nord Hero Battleaxe is improved at a grindstone with one Steel Ingot per improvement. The Steel Smithing perk doubles the improvement, so each quality tier needs less Smithing skill. An enchanted copy can only be improved with the Arcane Blacksmith perk.

Weapon Levels
Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.
