Erdtree Burial Watchdog is a dungeon boss in Elden Ring.
The Erdtree Burial Watchdog is a stone guardian shaped like a hunched, caped cat that rules many catacombs. The first waits at the end of Stormfoot Catacombs in Limgrave, close to the start of the journey. Others guard catacombs in the Weeping Peninsula, Liurnia, Caelid and the Altus Plateau. Each one drops useful Spirit Ashes or a bell bearing.
Lore
The watchdog is a living statue with a hunched body, a cape of stone and a long, cat-like tail. Its tail burns with fire or crackles with lightning. It fights with a stone greatsword or a stone staff set with glintstone.
The watchdogs guarded the catacombs where the dead were given to the Erdtree. Battered and broken over their long service, they rule these tombs and are said to command the imps.
Their swords bear the watchman's eye. Graverobbers pried out the pupils long ago, leaving the blades as hollow lumps of stone.

Attacks
- Weapon Swings: wide sword or staff swings; block or roll through the swing.
- Thrust: it leans back and stabs forward over a short range; back away or roll aside and strike.
- Levitating Slam: it rises into the air and slams down with a shockwave; jump over the shockwave and answer with a jump attack.
- Spinning Swipe: it rests the sword to one side and spins in a wide circle; jump over the blade or roll against its direction.
- Overhead Slam: it stands, walks forward, pauses and smashes down; roll during the pause and punish the recovery.
- Tail Slam: it turns its head to look behind and slams its burning tail; roll away as soon as the head turns.
- Breath: fire watchdogs chase with a stream of flame, and the Wyndham watchdog spits a ball of lightning; circle behind or hide behind a pillar.
- Sorcery of the Crozier: the staff watchdog conjures floating magic shards that chase their target; run sideways or roll through them.
Tactics
- Use strike weapons, since stone shrugs off slashing and piercing blows.
- Bait an attack, roll to its side, land a few hits and back off.
- Jump over the Levitating Slam and Spinning Swipe and punish with jump attacks to break its stance.
- Avoid blocking the Levitating Slam, which reaches over a shield.
- Ranged builds can keep distance and wait out its repeated leaps before striking.
- Several Crystal Darts drive a watchdog berserk, which turns it on its imps or on its partner in the Minor Erdtree Catacombs.
- Kaiden Sellsword Ashes make the early watchdog fights much easier.
