The Verdigris Greatshield is a Greatshield in Elden Ring. It has the highest guard boost of any greatshield in the game. It is one of the expansion's additions, found in the Land of Shadow.

The Verdigris Greatshield is made of the unusual metal verdigris and boasts greater guard capacity than damage negation, said to keep protecting its target even if its bearer should die. It is Moore's shield and drops wherever he dies, whether he invades after a Forager Brood Pest is killed or falls in the fight alongside Leda. Its guard boost of 82, rising to 90 when fully upgraded, is the highest of any shield, at a weight of 28 and a Strength requirement of 49. Its unique skill, Moore's Charge, has the user charge forward with both hands on the shield while keeping guard, ending in a verdigris-imbued shove that knocks back nearby enemies. It suits a heavy Strength character who blocks rather than rolls.

Skill

Moore's Charge costs 16 FP. The wielder plants the greatshield with both hands and charges forward while still guarding, finishing with a shove that bursts with verdigris magic and knocks nearby enemies away. Holding the button lengthens the charge. It deals no real damage, so it serves to push enemies off and open room for healing or a counterattack. No other weapon carries this skill, and it cannot be replaced.

"Ready the shield with both hands, then charge forth while maintaining guard, ending in a shove imbued with verdigris magic. Knocks back nearby enemies, but does not cause significant harm. Hold to extend the length of the charge."

Guarding

With a guard boost of 82, a blocked hit that would cost 100 stamina only costs 18. No other greatshield guards better. It blocks all physical damage, and against the elements it holds up best to fire, at 74%, and worst to lightning, at 67%. Running out of stamina mid-block breaks the guard and opens the wielder to a critical hit.

Build

Played in a block-first style: hold the guard through boss combos, poke back with a thrusting weapon in the other hand, and use Moore's Charge to push enemies away.
