Draugr and skeletons carry it in ancient Nordic tombs and burial crypts across Skyrim. At higher levels the draugr switch to honed versions.

Upgrades
An Ancient Nord Greatsword is improved at a grindstone with one Steel Ingot per improvement. The Steel Smithing perk doubles the improvement, so each quality tier needs less Smithing skill. An enchanted copy can only be improved with the Arcane Blacksmith perk.
