The Grappling Hook fires a hook up to about 40 metres and pulls you to wherever it catches. It is most useful on the craggy terrain of the Mistlands, where you find its parts.

• 10x Yggdrasil Wood: Chopped from Yggdrasil Shoots in the Mistlands.
• 10x Refined Eitr: Refined from Sap and Soft Tissue at an Eitr Refinery.
• 4x Mandible: Dropped by Seeker Soldiers in the Mistlands.
• 1x Hook: Found in Mistlands chests.

You craft it at a level 1 Black Forge from ten Yggdrasil Wood, ten Refined Eitr, four Mandibles and a Hook. The Hook is found in the treasure chests of Infested Mines, the chests of Dvergr guard towers and the chests on top of rock spires.

In Mörkhalla you can jump down the central gap to reach the bottom floor quickly, then climb back to the entrance with a Grappling Hook. You survive the fall with a Feather Cape or with more than 100 health, since a fall deals at most 100 damage.

Mind the drop. The hook lifts you but does nothing to break a fall; a feather cape does.

Both attacks fire it, for 15 stamina each. It cannot be upgraded.

At quality 1 it deals 10 pierce, 10 in total.

A primary attack costs 15 stamina. Its hits knock back with a force of 20.

It weighs 1.5 and has 300 durability, which stays at 300 at quality 1.

It blocks with 21 armour, or 42 on a well-timed parry at 2x. Blocking a melee attack knocks the attacker back with a block force of up to 20.

Here is how its damage lands on Deep North creatures. Pierce does full damage to Elakings, the Eyeless One, Deep North Greydwarves and their Shamans, Hexen, Captive Fulings, Imprisoned Dvergr and Moose, and reduced damage to Barka, Fallen Warriors, Gammeltrolls, Skeletons, Krigen, Shapeless and Tiny Pulps and Kall Fimbulbringer.

It costs 10 Yggdrasil Wood, 10 Refined Eitr, 4 Mandibles and 1 Hook.
