The CS-1 Taipan is a silencer for stealth kills with a gun. It doubles the damage of hits made from stealth. It also silences the gun's shots. In return the gun loses some base damage. It suits a Cool build that picks enemies off one by one before a fight starts. The CS-1 Taipan is an early game silencer that weapon vendors sell from the start.
Effect
A silencer sits in a weapon's muzzle slot. The CS-1 Taipan adds +100% damage to hits made from stealth.
The silencer also lowers the gun's base damage. The penalty is 20% at Tier 1. It shrinks at each tier and falls to 5% at Tier 4.

Upgrades
The CS-1 Taipan comes in Tiers 1 to 4. Higher tiers shrink the damage penalty. A silencer can only go on a weapon of the same tier or a higher one.
Character Builds
The CS-1 Taipan belongs in a stealth build. Killer Instinct in the Cool tree adds +25% damage with silenced guns outside of combat. It also shows a preview of the estimated damage. Ninjutsu adds Movement Speed and, at its last level, lets V sprint while crouched and stay silent.
Lore
The in-game description is a single line. It says the targets will never know what hit them.
