Plan B is Dexter DeShawn's Constitutional Arms Liberty, the signature pistol of the fixer who hired V for The Heist. V can take it from Dex's body once the story moves past the first act. It is an Iconic pistol with a strong headshot bonus and a raised chance to make enemies Bleed. Its downside is unusual. It fires eddies instead of ammo, so every shot costs V money. For a player with plenty of money, it is an accurate sidearm that never needs Handgun Ammo. Plan B is an early Act 2 find. It is looted from Dex's body at the Municipal Landfill any time after Playing for Time.
Combat
Plan B is a fast-handling pistol with a high headshot bonus. Its rounds have a higher chance to cause Bleeding, which deals damage over time and stops the target from sprinting. Steady headshots plus Bleeding wear down gangers quickly.
The eddie cost is its most important trait. Every shot spends V's money instead of ammo. Early in the story, when money is tight, the cost can hurt. Later, when V is earning well from gigs, the cost matters far less. The pistol keeps firing as long as the eddies last. It takes a scope and a muzzle attachment, so it can carry a silencer for stealth.

- Finish The Heist and Playing for Time.
- Travel to the Municipal Landfill.
- Find Dexter DeShawn's body where Takemura left it.
- Loot Plan B from the body.
- If it is missed, buy it from Herold Lowe at the black market in the EBM Petrochem Stadium in Dogtown, with Phantom Liberty.

Upgrades
Plan B only keeps up with V through upgrades. The Upgrades tab in the crafting menu raises it a tier at a time for crafting components. Components come from looting, crafting and disassembly. The pistol has to be in V's inventory, not the stash, to show up.

Character Builds
Pistols are a Cool weapon. Focus unlocks Focus mode when aiming at full Stamina and adds headshot damage. Deadeye adds more headshot damage. Head To Head resets the Focus timer whenever an aimed shot kills. Run 'N' Gun removes the Stamina cost of hip-fire and speeds up movement during Focus. Rinse And Reload shortens the next reload after a kill while aiming. Quick Draw makes the swap to the pistol faster.
For cyberware, Kiroshi Cockatrice Optics add crit chance, and Tyrosine Injector adds headshot damage after a takedown. Plan B is a Power weapon, so the Ballistic Coprocessor raises its ricochet chance and ricochet damage. Kerenzikov lets V aim and fire while sliding or dodging, with time slowed for a moment.
Select a Build
The build deals huge damage at close range with shotguns and obliterates enemies outright. Health regen and Adrenaline Rush keep the character alive, and stacked cyberware regularly triggers Fury from Edgerunner. A Tech pistol and a heavy sniper cover anything further away.

Lore
Dexter DeShawn is the Afterlife fixer who sets up the job at Konpeki Plaza. When The Heist goes wrong, Dex turns on V and leaves V for dead. Playing for Time opens with V waking up in the Municipal Landfill. V crawls out of the trash just as Dex and Goro Takemura arrive. Takemura kills Dex there, then drags V away to meet Hanako Arasaka.
Dex's body stays at the landfill, and his pistol stays with it. V's backup plan turns out to be the pistol of the man who betrayed V.
