Seraph is Padre's own pistol, an Iconic Constitutional Arms Liberty. He gives it to V once every one of his Heywood gigs is done. It fires explosive rounds, and each hit raises the chance of setting the target on fire. A burning enemy then takes more damage from every bullet that follows. Seraph grows stronger the longer it stays on one target. It also keeps its scope and muzzle slots, so it can be customised like a normal pistol. Seraph is a mid-game reward from the minor job God Bless This Mess, after the last of Padre's gigs in Heywood.

Combat

Seraph is a Power pistol with explosive rounds. Each hit raises the chance that the enemy starts to burn. Once the target is burning, every later bullet deals more damage to it. The effect rewards keeping all shots on one enemy. Emptying the magazine into one enemy works far better than spreading shots across a crowd.

The burn also helps against groups, but more slowly. Each enemy that catches fire takes extra damage from every later hit. A burning target is therefore the one to finish first.

The scope and muzzle slots add useful options. A short scope adds zoom and range for headshots at mid range. A muzzle brake cuts recoil, which helps keep a stream of shots on one target. A silencer such as the CS-1 Taipan adds stealth damage for a first shot.

Character Builds

Seraph is a pistol, so it uses the Cool tree. Focus adds headshot damage and unlocks Focus mode when V aims at full Stamina. Head To Head resets Focus with each kill, which keeps it active through a fight. Deadeye adds more headshot damage. High Noon speeds up the next reload after a headshot kill. Run 'N' Gun removes the Stamina cost of hip-fire and adds speed while Focus is active. Quick Draw speeds up the swap to the pistol.

For cyberware, Kiroshi Cockatrice Optics raise crit chance. The Tyrosine Injector adds headshot damage after a takedown. It helps when a silenced Seraph starts a fight from stealth. Kerenzikov lets V aim and fire while sliding or dodging, with time slowed for a moment.

Select a Build

Headshots deal most of the damage, and Focus and Deadeye only work at full Stamina, so each fight starts with a full Stamina bar. The Sandevistan slows time so a whole group can drop one headshot at a time. A silenced pistol handles quiet kills before a fight, and a shotgun deals with enemies that get close.

Attributes: Body 20, Reflexes 18, Technical Ability 20, Intelligence 3, Cool 20.

Lore

Padre is the fixer of Heywood. His real name is Sebastian Ibarra. He was once a priest in the Valentinos, but after the bloodbath at Moto Cielo he became a fixer. At first he offered jobs only to his own people in Heywood and the Valentinos. Later he even made deals with 6th Street. He follows his own code of honour and supports no single gang. What he cares about is the balance of power in Night City.

Seraph's in-game text calls it Padre's closest companion. It is judge, jury and executioner for divine justice, all rolled into one. The pistol has the same holy tone as its name. Its Iconic text speaks of the purifying flame of the Seraphim consuming the target. When the work in Heywood is done, Padre pays his debt with this gun, and it waits for V in the stash.
