La Chingona Dorada is the pair of gold-painted Tsunami Nue pistols that belonged to Jackie Welles. V can take them from Jackie's ofrenda after the side job Heroes. They reward good aim. Every headshot briefly raises crit damage and the chance to set the target on fire. Each headshot is also counted. The next time the pistol is drawn, it comes back with that many extra rounds. It is a strong, long-lasting sidearm for a Cool build that lands its headshots. It also carries the memory of V's best friend. La Chingona Dorada is an early Act 2 reward. It is collected from the ofrenda at El Coyote Cojo in The Glen a day after the side job Heroes.
Combat
La Chingona Dorada is a pistol for aimed fire. Its Iconic effect is built entirely on headshots. Each head hit adds a short boost to crit damage and Burn chance. Several headshots in a row lead to big crits that set enemies on fire. Burn deals high Thermal damage over a short time, which finishes off targets that survived the shot.
The ammo effect is less obvious but useful. Headshots are counted while the pistol is in hand. When V swaps away and draws it again, the magazine gains extra rounds equal to that count. A player who swaps between a rifle and La Chingona Dorada can get far more shots out of each magazine. The pistol takes a scope and a muzzle attachment, so it can be set up for range or for stealth.
How to Get La Chingona Dorada Guide
- At the end of The Heist, ask Delamain to take Jackie's body to his family.
- After Playing for Time, call Mamá Welles and meet her at El Coyote Cojo in The Glen, Heywood.
- Take the garage key, choose an offering in Jackie's garage and join the ofrenda.
- Leave the bar and wait or skip time for 24 hours.
- Return to El Coyote Cojo and take La Chingona Dorada from the ofrenda altar.
La Chingona Dorada Map Location and Quest Guide
- Near the end of The Heist, have Delamain take Jackie's body to his family.
- Wait for Mama Welles's message, then call her to start the side job Heroes.
- Meet Mama Welles at El Coyote Cojo in Heywood and take the key to Jackie's garage.
- Open the garage with Misty and choose an offering for the ofrenda.
- Return to the bar and take part in the ofrenda.
- Leave the bar, then wait a day or skip time.

Upgrades
The pistols can be upgraded in the crafting menu's Upgrades tab like any Iconic weapon. Raising them a tier costs crafting components, gathered by looting, crafting or breaking down spare gear. The upgrade screen only lists weapons carried in V's inventory, so the pistols cannot be in the stash while upgrading.

Character Builds
Handguns are a Cool weapon, and this pistol rewards the headshot perks in that tree. Focus unlocks a slow, aimed mode at full Stamina and adds headshot damage. Deadeye adds more. Head To Head keeps Focus going after every aimed kill. V can then land several headshots in a row and build up the Iconic bonus. High Noon speeds up the next reload after a headshot kill while Deadeye is active. Quick Draw makes the swap to the pistol faster, which helps with the extra-ammo effect.
Crit damage matters most here, because the Iconic effect already raises it. Kiroshi Cockatrice Optics add crit chance, so those crits land more often. The Militech Apogee Sandevistan adds headshot damage and crit stats while time slows. The slowed time lets V shoot heads one by one. Tyrosine Injector boosts headshot damage after a takedown.

The build stays in stealth and lands critical headshots. La Chingona Dorada is the gun for big enemies when a stealth kill must not fail. With these perks it reliably kills skull bosses.

Lore
Jackie Welles is V's partner and best friend at the start of the story. He carried these golden Nues as his signature guns. They stay with his family after The Heist goes wrong.
Heroes follows the loss of Jackie after The Heist. If Jackie's body went home to his family, his mother, Mamá Welles, calls V. She invites V to the ofrenda she is holding at her bar, El Coyote Cojo. She gives V the key to Jackie's garage behind the bar to find an offering from his life. Outside the garage V meets Misty, Jackie's girlfriend, who is waiting for a man who will never come back. Inside, V picks an offering, such as Jackie's book, his basketball, a tequila bottle or a leather belt. Back at the bar, V takes part in the ofrenda and leaves the offering in Jackie's memory. Mamá Welles then hands V the key to Jackie's ARCH motorcycle. A day later, Jackie's pistols wait on the ofrenda altar.
