The XC-10 Strix is a silencer for Power pistols, submachine guns and assault rifles. It makes hits from stealth deal 150% more damage. The price is lower base damage on all of the weapon's shots. It suits a stealth build in the middle of the game that relies on quiet opening shots. The XC-10 Strix is a mid game silencer, since it comes at Tiers 3 and 4.
Effect
A silencer sits in a weapon's muzzle slot. Silencers add bonuses to attacks made from stealth.
The XC-10 Strix raises damage from stealth hits by 150%. It also lowers the weapon's base damage. The cut is 20% at Tier 3 and 10% at Tier 4.
The large stealth bonus makes the first shot of an ambush the one that matters. A long, loud fight loses some damage on every shot.
The XC-10 Strix is worth the slot on a Power gun used for quiet kills from hiding.

Upgrades
The XC-10 Strix comes at Tiers 3 and 4. Tier 4 halves the base damage penalty. A silencer can only go on a weapon of the same tier or a higher one. Muzzle attachments can be taken off a gun and moved to another one at any time.
Character Builds
The XC-10 Strix belongs in a Cool stealth build. Killer Instinct adds damage with silenced guns outside of combat. Creeping Death restores Health and Stamina when V neutralizes an enemy while undetected. Gag Order delays detection by nearby enemies when V hits an enemy right after being spotted. Quick Getaway raises movement speed after a kill while undetected.
Focus adds damage to headshots and weak spots. Deadeye raises headshot and weak spot damage further.
Lore
The in-game description of the XC-10 Strix reads "They'll never know what hit 'em." The XC-10 Cetus and the TSX Tocororo carry the same line.
Notes
