Waldhar is a human magistrate of Vernworth, well versed in the Code of Vermund. When the Arisen first meets him he is a prisoner in the Vernworth Castle Gaol Tower, and freeing him wins a respected voice for the Arisen's claim to the throne.
Story
Captain Brant hands the Arisen the Gaol Key and asks for help in freeing the magistrate. Waldhar agrees to leave his cell only once he has somewhere to carry on his studies, a place with plenty of tomes. The search leads to The Gracious Hand's Vaults, an archive hidden beneath the Gracious Hand in the slums. Once the Arisen leads him out of the gaol, Waldhar settles among the books in the vaults. Life in a cell troubled Waldhar less than the loss of his spectacles, which were taken from him in the gaol. Returning them earns his gratitude and lets his studies go on.
Location
Waldhar is first held in a cell on the lowest floor of the Vernworth Castle Gaol Tower. After The Caged Magistrate he lives in the archive of The Gracious Hand's Vaults in Vernworth.
