The young leader of Melve, she has a strong sense of responsibility and trains diligently to protect her people. When the Arisen was wounded in the Dragon's attack, she nuersed them back to health.
Story
Ulrika is the daughter of the maister Lennart and leads Melve despite her youth. The Arisen meets her during Tale's Beginning. When the dragon attacks Melve it goes for Ulrika first, and the Arisen is gravely wounded drawing it away from her. The Arisen later wakes in Ulrika's House, where she has nursed them back to health. She also features in In Dragon's Wake.
Ulrika spends much of her time weighing what it means to live with a duty. She privately envies the Arisen's strength and courage, which held firm even after the loss of their memories, and in time she resolves to stand firm as a leader in her own right.
Relationships
Ulrika can be romanced through a chain of three quests.
- Readvent of Calamity: a dragon attacks Melve again, and Ulrika thanks the Arisen once it is driven off. A day later she invites the Arisen to stay the night at her house, on the western side of the village beside the potion shop. By morning she has left Melve to avoid arrest, and Lennart asks the Arisen to find her. She turns up in Harve Village, staying on to track the dragon's whereabouts. A first visit to Harve requires Scaly Invaders.
- Trouble on the Cape: a few days later, a return to Harve triggers a scene, and the Arisen then helps Ulrika rescue a villager trapped by lizardmen in Stormwind Cave.
- Home Is Where the Hearth Is: Melve is now under heavy guard, and entry costs a 5,000 G bribe. Lennart, waiting at Ulrika's house, needs four swords to arm the villagers against the guards. After the fight, Ulrika waits on the pier at Harve Village, and a night-time visit to the pier brings the romance scene.
Readvent of Calamity is time-sensitive and tied to the dragon's attack on Melve. Missing it closes off the whole romance.
The brothers Ian and Norbert from Brothers Brave and Timid help distract the guards at Melve's storeroom during Home Is Where the Hearth Is. If Norbert died in the wolf attack, the swords have to be bought or taken by killing the storeroom guards.
Location
Ulrika lives in Melve and is often inside her house when she is not walking the village. During her quest line she spends time in Harve Village.
Gifts
Ulrika favours Adorable and Beautiful items. Flowers and shards fit both groups, beetles count as adorable, and anything pleasing to the eye counts as beautiful. Gifts start to raise her affinity once Trouble on the Cape is complete.
If the Arisen owns a house in Vernworth, Ulrika leaves gifts there to put on display.
Notes
- Ulrika may come to the Arisen's home and ask for an escort back to her village. On arrival she gives 120 Rift Crystals and a Bunch of Flowers.
- Once romanced, she is accepted as the answer to the Sphinx's riddle of the most beloved in A Game of Wits.
- Her personality type is Kindhearted.
- A Fruit Roborant can be stolen from her.
