Menella, a beastren guard entrusted with leading the Lambent Flame, which is an order sworn to safeguarding the high priestess and her acolytes. She demonstrates unwavering loyalty to Empress Nadinia. Recognizing the empress's fair treatment of her people, Menella prioritizes equality and is troubled by racial discrimination that is happening in the world. As an NPC in Dragon's Dogma 2 she aids Arisen with guiding through quests, acting as a trade merchant, or offering quests herself.

A Beastern who leads the guard of the Lambent Flame, protecting the high priestess and her acolytes. She is fiercely loyal to Empress Nadinia, who treats her people equally. Following that example, she is concerned about discrimination between races and strices to be more righteous herself.

Story

Menella commands the guard that protects the high priestess of the Lambent Flame and her acolytes, and her loyalty to Nadinia shapes everything she does. The Arisen first meets her during Nation of the Lambent Flame, on arrival in Bakbattahl, and again at The Rockmouse's Burrow. Pledging help at that point earns a Battahl Residence Permit.

She also takes part in Shadowed Prayers and A Candle in the Storm.

For all her years in the empress's service, Menella failed to see the true aims of someone within Nadinia's inner circle, and that lapse leaves her doubting her own worth. She later asks to travel with the Arisen in the hope of learning from their example. By the end of the journey she believes she has found the weakness holding her back, and she resolves to overcome it.

Location

Menella usually stands in front of the hallway that leads into Flamebearer Palace. Once Shadowed Prayers is complete she moves to the Volcanic Island Camp, where she waits beside the ladder up to the hot springs. She returns to the palace after A Candle in the Storm.

Gifts

Menella favours Adorable and Beautiful items. Flowers and shards fit both groups, beetles count as adorable, and anything pleasing to the eye counts as beautiful.

At high affinity she brings a Panacea to the Arisen's home in Vernworth herself. Her letter admits that a military officer charged with part of a nation's defence has no business making personal calls on a civilian, but that she wanted to hand it over in person.

Notes

• Menella may turn up at the Arisen's home in Bakbattahl and ask for an escort to the Volcanic Island Camp. The reward is 120 Rift Crystals and a Bunch of Flowers.
• Her personality type is Kindhearted.
• A Sand-Patterned Camping Kit can be stolen from her.
