The Bronze Atgeir is the weapon for the moment four Greydwarves close in at once. It is the first polearm you can make at a Forge, from materials found in the Black Forest, and its spinning sweep clears more ground than any blade. It deals 45 pierce damage. It is the weakest polearm, and that is the point: it is the one you can make first. Pierce damage hurts the Troll more than most things, which is the reason to carry it.
How to Craft
It is made at a level 1 Forge from:
- 10x Wood, chopped from any tree.
- 8x Bronze, made at a Forge.
- 2x Leather Scraps, dropped by Boars and Bats and dug out of muddy scrap piles.

When to Use It
It is an early-game weapon. It needs Black Forest materials, so it comes after Eikthyr and the Antler Pickaxe.
Upgrades
It can be upgraded 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station one level higher than the last. The other figures on this page are for quality 1, so this table shows the full upgrade path your own copy is on:
| Quality | Crafting Station | Pierce | Durability | Resources |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Forge (Level 1) | 45 | 125 |
|
| 2 | Forge (Level 2) | 51 | 175 |
|
| 3 | Forge (Level 3) | 57 | 225 |
|
| 4 | Forge (Level 4) | 63 | 275 |

Properties
This is the first weapon in the game that answers a crowd. 45 pierce is modest, but the spin staggers a whole ring of Greydwarves at once, and a staggered enemy takes double damage from whatever hits it next.
The secondary attack is the real weapon. It deals normal damage, but with 6x stagger in a circle around you and no multi-target damage penalty, which is enough to stagger most creatures in the game outright. Use the primary for one target and the secondary for a crowd.
At 3.2 metres it has the longest reach in the game, so the primary hits a Troll before the Troll can swing.
Notes
- The secondary's 360 degree arc takes no multi-target damage penalty, while almost every other area attack in the game does.
- The first strike of the primary combo keeps you in place, and you step 0.5 m forward on the 2 strikes after it, so the combo closes the distance your reach had bought you.
- In game, most of this class is called an atgeir, a thin curved blade on a long pole, which is why the pages and the category use different words.
