Nord Atgeir is the polearm of the Deep North. It deals 182 pierce damage, and its sweep staggers everything around you. Instead of crafting it outright at a forge, you pour a cast around a mould found in the biome and then harden it in a Frost Foundry.

How to Craft

You make it in a Frost Foundry from:

1x Cast: Nord Atgeir: poured at a level 4 Black Forge from Bloodgold, Timberwood and its mould.
5x Liquid Frost: frozen down from Ice in a Frigid Kiln.

Mould

You find the Mould: Nord Atgeir in the Deep North:

It drops from the trash piles you smash in the Winding Tunnels.
It lies in the buried chests at Memorial Sites.
It sits on the weapon stands on the last floor of Mörkhalla.

When to Use It

This is an end-game weapon: you can only progress through the Deep North once Fader is dead.

Upgrades

You can upgrade it twice at the Black Forge. Each step needs the station one level higher than the last: the first costs the per-level amount and the second costs twice that. Quality 4 would cost four times the per-level amount, but it needs a level 7 Black Forge, above the forge's current maximum of 6, so that row is not yet available.

Properties

The primary attack is a three-hit combo, with the last hit dealing double damage. The secondary sweeps all around you for normal damage and six times the stagger.

It blocks with 88 armour and parries at 2x.

It gives -5% movement speed while it is in your hands.

At quality 1 it deals 182 pierce damage, 182 in all. Himminafl, the hardest-hitting weapon of its kind before the Deep North, deals 125 at quality 1, so the Nord Atgeir hits 46% harder. Each upgrade adds 10 pierce, which takes it to 202 pierce, 202 in all, at quality 3.

A primary attack costs 20 stamina and the secondary costs 40. Its hits knock enemies back with a force of 30.

It weighs 2.5 and has 400 durability, rising to 500 at quality 3.

It blocks with 88 armour, or 176 on a well-timed parry at 2x. Blocking a melee attack knocks the attacker back with a block force of up to 40.

Against the creatures of the Deep North, pierce deals full damage to Elakings, the Eyeless One, Deep North Greydwarves and their Shamans, Hexen, Captive Fulings, Imprisoned Dvergr and Moose. It deals reduced damage to Barka, Fallen Warriors, Gammeltrolls, Skeletons, Krigen, Shapeless and Tiny Pulps and Kall Fimbulbringer.

Because quality 4 needs a level 7 Black Forge, above the forge's current maximum of 6, the weapon stops at quality 3 in practice.

Crafting it from scratch and taking it to quality 3 costs 50 Bloodgold and 25 Timberwood, plus a mould and 5 Liquid Frost.

Notes

Reforging it into its Frostfire or Thunderblood version resets the new weapon to quality 1, so add the essence before you pay for upgrades.
