When a Sunken Crypt corner turns up three draugr at once, the Iron Atgeir answers with a spinning sweep that catches all of them. It deals 65 pierce, its materials come from the Swamp, and you make it at a Forge. At 65 total damage it ranks 3rd among polearms, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Pierce damage hurts Trolls more than most things, and that is what to carry it for.
How to Craft
Craft it at a level 2 forge from:
- 10x Wood: Chopped from any tree.
- 30x Iron: Smelted from Scrap Iron in a Smelter.
- 2x Leather Scraps: Drops from boars and bats, and dug out of muddy scrap piles.

When to Use It
This is early game gear. Iron comes from Sunken Crypts in the Swamp, so it opens up once The Elder is down.
Upgrades
You can upgrade it 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station built one step higher than the last. Every other figure on this page is for quality 1, so this table shows where your own copy sits:

Properties
It has 65 pierce and 28 block armour. The two-handed guard is your only defence, since your shield hand is taken, and this is the first atgeir with enough of it to block a Draugr reliably.
The secondary attack is the real weapon. It deals normal damage but 6x stagger in a circle around you, with no multi-target damage penalty, which is enough to stagger most creatures in the game outright. Use the primary for one target and the secondary for a crowd.
Notes
- The secondary's 360 degree arc takes no multi-target damage penalty, while almost every other area attack in the game does.
- You stay in place on the first strike of the primary combo and step 0.5 m forward on the 2 that follow it, so the combo closes the distance your reach had bought you.
- In game, most of the class is called an atgeir, a thin curved blade on a long pole, so you will see both atgeir and polearm used for these weapons.
