The Death's Poker is a Greatsword in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Mid game. It is found around Caelid, which opens up past Stormveil Castle, so it arrives once a build has taken shape.

Upgrades

It takes Somber Smithing Stones rather than the common kind, one per level up to +10, and it keeps its own skill for good: no Ash of War will replace it and no affinity will re-cut its scaling.

Skill

Ghostflame Ignition costs 15 / 10 / 10 FP. Thrust out the barbed rod and set its tip alight with ghostflame. Follow up with a normal attack to set the ground ablaze with ghostflame, or a strong attack to trigger a massive explosion. It belongs to this weapon alone: no Ash of War will move it onto anything else, and nothing will replace it here.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D, Dex at D and Int at E, so Str and Dex are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 15, Dex 17 and Int 11 before you can lift it. Because the skill is its own, the build has to come to the weapon rather than the other way round. It also causes frost buildup on its own, with no infusion needed.

Notes

Barbed rod carried by Deathbirds. The birds are graveyard fire keepers; it is said they rake out the ashen remains of the dead from their kilns.

How to Get Death's Poker Guide

Dropped by the Death Rite Bird in Caelid, located southeast of the Aeonia Swamp Site of Grace.
The bird spawns only at night.
