Gameplay Tips

Temper it at a workbench with one Refined Malachite. The Glass Smithing perk doubles the improvement.
Forge it with the Glass Smithing perk, which needs Smithing 70, from 4 Refined Malachite, 1 Refined Moonstone and 2 Leather Strips.
Its 27 armor beats the 21 of the Elven Shield for 2 more weight.

Smithing Guide

Enchanted weapons require the Arcane Blacksmith Perk to upgrade.

Crafting

A Glass Shield is made at a forge with the Glass Smithing perk.

A Glass Shield is improved at a workbench with one Refined Malachite per improvement. The Glass Smithing perk doubles the improvement, so each quality tier needs less Smithing skill. An enchanted copy can only be improved with the Arcane Blacksmith perk.
